As a result of the tide of tourism, this "once upon a time" fishing village has expanded since the 1960s into a major holiday resort. As the sun sets the centre of the town changes its character. A plentiful collection of bars, restaurants and clubs start to fill-up with people. A fine selection of good beaches extend east and west from the town. The new Marina is located on the west side of the town and offers a different and attractive aspect with a great selection of entertainment. The Portuguese love their fish and in Albufeira all fish is caught locally. There are lots of restaurants clustered down by Fisherman's Beach, one of the old town's nicest strips .Algarve Shopping is a new mall with great shops and nice Portuguese touches. If you hate climate control and strip lights, this one's for you! Shopping and children normally don't go, but here in Algarve Shopping they've got a crèche, an English language cinema and a bowling alley. Albufeira is located 35 mins drive from faro airport and offers value for money villas ,all our villas with pools are located close to the town center of Albufeira and are excellent villas for those looking for ease of access to entertainment.
